Aaron Eckhart To See Beach Boy Dennis Wilson in 'The Drummer'
If Aaron Eckhart doesn't have musical chops, he better get practicing: the 'Rum Diary' co-star just signed onto play Dennis Wilson in the Beach Boys, employment which requires him to know the drums and piano, perform some singing and -- to resemble the '70s-era Wilson -- grow out his beard. (People people who loved him best since the biker boyfriend in 'Erin Brockovich,' rejoice.) The Drummer' follows the ultimate six years of Wilson's existence, within the 1977 relieve his solo album 'Pacific Ocean Blue' to his dying in 1983. The film gets the blessing in the Wilson family, including Carl B. Wilson and Jennifer Wilson, who'll co-produce. Eckhart will share executive creating credit while using Beach Boys former manager James William Guerico. Filming will begin this spring or summer season in California and Georgia. Eckhart's next film, 'I, Frankenstein,' starts production in February. To date as his 'Surfin' USA' qualifications, Eckhart spent some time surfing in Hawaii before landing his first film role.
